948 Beach Rd, Siesta Key, FL 34242
Siesta Key is a place of natural beauty. It is the perfect destination for tourists (and locals) who want to enjoy their time at the beach and escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is a small island located in Sarasota County, Florida, similar to Anna Maria Island. The Gulf of Mexico and white sand beaches are its most notable features and loved by the locals. We know you want to "go like a local" so read on!

South Beach Park, 1702 Ocean Dr, Vero Beach, FL 32963
With some beaches, you have a long, not walk to reach the water. Even worse, you are exhausted after carrying all your gear. Not in Vero Beach. At first glance, South Beach Park seems like any other Florida beach. However, this hidden treasure surprised us with grassy areas, quaint shelters, and short, forested paths that lead to an incredible beachfront. There is even a bench to rest before you walk across the sand, and it is fully accessible. South Beach Park has a romantic, undeveloped feel to it where even the structures seem to be part of the trees. Just like a botanical garden, it's a pleasure from the moment you arrive. With free parking, you will never want to leave!

Bowman's Beach, 1700 Bowmans Beach Rd, Sanibel, FL 33957
A good shelling beach can be hard to find. Even worse, they can be crowded. But not Sanibel Island. Sanibel is very much a nature preserve with no high rise condos and natural beaches. Sanibel, including Bowman's Beach, is great for collecting shells, birdwatching, or just to walk and swim in the unspoiled outdoors. The best beaches are located on the western side of the island, facing the Gulf of Mexico. These are top beaches for swimming, shelling and sunsets. Even the causeway has great beach areas for watersports, fishing and swimming with no parking fees (although it will cost $6 to cross the causeway). White sand and calm waters make for the perfect Florida beach experience as far as the eye can see in Sanibel.

4191 NE Ocean Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957
Located near Hutchinson Island South, Jensen Beach Park on the Atlantic shore of Martin and St. Lucie County, is an enchanting beach that offers stunning sunrises. It is open from 7am to 8pm. We chose to spend our anniversary here. We have been married for 30 years! While you can't drive onto this beach, there is lots of parking and it's a very short walk to the ocean. Dogs are allowed on this beach but our greyhound Fancy Pants did not join us on this trip. Jensen Beach Park has a lot to offer in terms of relaxation and beauty, although swimming here can be a challenge. We consider it to be mostly a beach for walking and wading. Read on to find out why.
